Massage in Heathrow

Heathrow Airport was established in 1929 as a very small airfield on land southeast of the village of  Heathrow 14 miles west of Central London it stragged a road which ran along the east and south edges of the present main terminals area. Development to transform the small airfield into an aerodrome started in 1944, the original purpose being for long-distance military aircraft bound for the far east. By the time the aerodrome was nearing completion, World War 2 had ended. The government decided to once again develop the site, but this time for civil aviation, known as London Airport and later as Heathrow Airport.

The result of the developments meant that the name Heathrow, once used only for a group of farms, is now a global brand and occurs in the names of many establishments around the airport, many having no connection with flying, such as Mojo Heathrow Massage.

The present site covers nearly 5 square miles and with the opening of the latest terminal in 2008 now has 5 terminals and a cargo terminal and Heathrow Airport is now used by 90+ airlines flying to over 170 destinations worldwide. Heathrow Airport has over 66 million passengers annually of which 11% had a UK destination, 43% are short-haul and 46% are long-haul international travelers. The most popular single destination in terms of passenger numbers is New York having over 3.5 million passengers traveling between Heathrow and New York airport each year.

During the 1950s, Heathrow Airport had six runways, arranged in the shape of a hexagram with the new passenger terminal in the centre and the older terminal along the north edge of the field. The pattern of the runways was altered due to the required length for runway increasing and Heathrow now has just two parallel runways running east to west.

Heathrow airport has its own in house media department, with six photographers a TV crew which serve newspapers and television stations around the world.

in 2010 Heathrow Airport was ranked fourth busiest by total passenger traffic behind Atlanta, beijing and Chicago however, Heathrow does have the highest number of international travelers and by July 2011, Heathrow was the third busiest airport in the world ,overtaking Chicago
